Association Auxiliary Membership Declaration
In order to improve consistency and uniformity of mechanics and rules enforcement in high school contests across the state, it is the goal of the MHSAA that all registered officials be members of Local Approved Associations. To this aim, established local Approved Associations are encouraged to develop auxiliary membership opportunities that would provide MHSAA officials (that do not have the ability to attend traditional in-person trainings because of their proximity to associations for the sport(s) they officiate) access to quality information, improved training and increased engagement.
FOOTBALL TRAINING
Football training is led by our Football Coordinator of Officials, Jerry Haines. You can reach Jerry at jjhaines53@yahoo.com with any football related questions. Football training meetings will begin in June and will be available via Zoom. Auxiliary members are also invited to participate in email based quizzes that will be sent by our training staff throughout the pre-season training period. The annual TCAOA Football Officials Clinic is held at Freeland High School in August and is free for all TCAOA football officials to attend. Once registered, auxiliary officials will receive training details in an email from the Coordinator.
