The TCAOA Board of Directors is looking to fill the following board positions:

• At Large Member
• Basketball Director
• Lacrosse Director
• Recruitment/Retention Coordinator

There shall be a Director of Officials for each sport. The president shall notify the membership when there is an opportunity to apply for a director’s position. This shall occur upon the Executive Board approving a resignation or the Executive Board seeking to replace a present Director. All members in good standing with the TCAOA shall have the opportunity to apply. A committee, appointed by the president and consisting of members in good standing, shall interview members interested in a director position. The committee shall recommend candidates to the Executive Board. The Executive Board shall select the director positions. The directors serve at the will of the Executive Board and can be replaced at any time.

The Executive Board shall appoint any vacancy on the Executive Board for the remainder of that term.

The Recruiting and Mentorship Coordinator is a required association position.

1. Must be elected or appointed by or to the Local Approved Association’s board.
2. Shall attend mandated Officiate Michigan Day training when offered by the MHSAA.
3. Serves as the point person for communication with the MHSAA on all things recruiting and retention at the association level. Distributes state-level messaging to local members and manages local recruiting efforts.
4. Develop a continuity and succession plan for the association.
5. Responsible for the fulfillment of requirements for “rookie” meetings. NOTE: Three “rookie” trainings shall be tentatively scheduled each year; one per sport, lasting a minimum of two hours (new officials that have not previously attended a “rookie” training that are part of the association).

• Mentorship Program and Legacy Program
• Conduct and deportment
• Handling situations

At Large – There will be four (4) At Large positions of the Executive Board. Two (2) to be elected each year. The president may assign specific duties to At Large members.

Director of Officials positions appointed by the Executive Board shall be non-voting Executive Board members. These directors shall be responsible for the training and operations for their respective sport.
